Presentation LCD Screen
Description:
A specially shielded 32” LCD Monitor (original model: Westinghouse LTV-32w1). The monitor has an inherent resolution of 1360 x 768 and a diagonal viewing area of 32.02" (70.8 cm x 40.0 cm with 0.052 cm square pixels). It has been stripped of ferrous material and placed in an aluminum enclosure with a conductive glass front.

Function:
Used to present visual stimulus to subjects in the scanner.
Location:
3T room -- about 255cm back of the magnet iso-center (270 cm +/- 2 cm from subject's eyes).
Setup:
Once positioned, the screen does not need to be moved. However, if the need arises, special care needs to be taken moving the screen around the magnet. Moving the screen too close to the magnet will damage the AC/DC power supply. Currently the screen is 260 cm from magnet iso-center on the ~100 Gauss line.
You may choose to operate either in Clone or Dual View (Mirror) mode, depending on whether your presentation software supports two displays. Also, since the subject is viewing the screen through a mirror they will see a left/right flipped image of the stimulus.

You can resolve this issue at either the software level, or by using a double mirror and a 180 rotated screen. Please note that the Mac version of Psych toolbox will not operate in a rotated mode.
The screen is connected to the Stimulus PC by default. However, if you would like to present the stimulus from your own laptop, just toggle the KVM switch located on top of the Stimulus PC.
Video Settings:
Windows
In Windows you can set your desired Display Mode, Resolution & Rotation Settings by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting ‘NVIDIA Control Panel’ from the menu that pops up.

A new window should open to allow you to change various video settings. To change the display mode, select ‘Set up multiple displays’; to rotate the screen, select ‘Rotate display’ and finally to change your resolution, select ‘Change resolution’. If you’re not rotating your display and are in Clone mode, there is a way to watch movies on both monitors. To do that, go to NVIDIA Control Panel > Modify full-screen video options and select ‘When watching video content… Also show it full-screen on my: LTV-32w1’. Be aware that if this setting is selected while your screen is rotated, your subject will be viewing the movie upside down.

Mac OS X
Similarly, in OS X video settings may be adjusted in System Preferences > Displays. System Preferences are located in the Application folder.

You may adjust the Resolution (Default: 1360 x 768) , the Refresh Rate (Default: 60.0 Hertz) and the Rotation (Default: Standard) under the ‘Display’ Tab. The arrangement and display mode (Mirror vs Dual View) can be adjusted under the ‘Arrangement’ Tab.

If the image on the Presentation Screen appears stretched, check the Monitors aspect ratio setting. To do that, press the Menu button on top of the monitor and then navigating to Picture Parameters > Aspect Ratio using the Channel and Volume buttons. In most cases the ratio should be set to ‘Standard’.
Connections:
1. DVI cable from the screen is connected to the DVI Out on the KVM via a DVI Extender and a 100ft DVI cable.
2. The screen is connected to power.
